Emily Hodges

My name is Emily Hodges. I teach 8th grade English at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School. I have taught for over 20 years in private and public schools. I have experience in 5th-8th grade English, and 7th grade Geography. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of South Carolina. Go Cocks! 

 

As an avid reader, I believe reading helps students experience various perspectives, broaden their understanding of the world, and empathize with others. I find great joy in teaching students (especially middle schoolers) to understand what they read, practice their writing and grammatical skills, and get organized.
